Do you think the comic sequel will affect our chances of a season two?

I'm not sure. This comic was probably in the works since before the show premiered, so it's probably not a replacement for a second season, especially since it doesn't share any writers. If the comic is successful, I think they'll likely greenlight the four issues Collins wants to do, if they haven't done so already.

But I feel like a second season of the anime is mostly dependent upon the success of the first season. They haven't released any info that would indicate success or lack thereof, so only time will tell. If a second season doesn't happen, I imagine they'll develop any story ideas they had into the comic.

Ok dope! Just ordered issue 1 from my local comic book store and subscribed to the series. I'm new to the Blade Runner franchise, but not new to comics, so I was really happy to find out there were already a few series out there. Which ones are your favorite so far?

Also, side note, did you see that other hovercraft when Elle was zooming away in Episode 13? I really thought that was going to be important in the comic because it looked like it was closing in, but according to preview pages for the comic, it looks like I'm wrong. Have to say I'm a bit bummed because that would've been interesting.

My favorites are definitely Blade Runner 2019 and 2029 so far.

I did see that too! And I've seen others bring it up. I'm equally disappointed, unless that thread is somehow picked up later on.

Yeah I thought she was going to get ambushed almost immediately, but maybe Season 2 would pick up on it? Definitely felt like an intentional decision to include it.

Not sure how many you're planning to pick up, but 2029 is a sequel to 2019, so definitely read it after. :)

Didn't comment on issues 2 and 3 because I felt the same about them as I did 1. But unfortunately, that's the same for issue 4.

Spoilers:

Just wasn't a fan of this run, which I ultimately feel was a clunky attempt to make a western with the BR universe and really didn't add much to Elle's character. I take no issue with the environmentalist message other than it was very ham-fisted. I also feel this last issue in particular is a bit sloppy. The opening blurb gets some details wrong, the "I did it for you, I always loved you" betrayal subplot comes out of nowhere and then doesn't go anywhere.

I hope whatever follow-up this gets is better.
