A Digital Companion, or DiJi, was a fully-customizable holographic companion designed by the Wallace Corporation. A known brand of DiJi was Joi.[1]
History[]
With the technology becoming popular by 2037, some DiJis, such as Dispatch, were specially designed for use by the Los Angeles Police Department. These could serve as support staff for the department's various divisions. Nexus-9 officers were encouraged to have their own private DiJi to provide companionship, emotional grounding, and psychological counseling.[2]
