The Nexus-5 was a model of replicant.
The Nexus-5 was stronger, more agile, and at least as intelligent as its designers.[1] Notably, the model also harbored an apparent obsession with optimization, seeking to find progress in any situation.[2] Ray McCoy remarked that, in comparison to the Nexus-6, the Nexus-5 would easily give up when cornered.[3]
In 2009, the same night Lydia Kine died, a Nexus-5 prototype containing the consciousness of Nia Moreaux[4] escaped the Tyrell Corporation.[5]
In November 2019, the Tyrell Corporation recalled the last four entertainment model Nexus-5s from the Off-world colonies. Despite a violent event from a Nexus-5 a few years earlier, Eldon Tyrell denied there being dangerous defects, but rather blamed the recall on the replicants for merely not being funny.[3]
By 2037, any remaining Nexus-5s were deemed to be antiquated and capable of very little.[6]
