Max Polokov was a Nexus-6 android who disguised himself on Earth as the Soviet police officer Sandor Kadalyi.
Biography[]
After arriving on Earth, Polokov pretended to be an anthead, finding employment as a trash collector at the Bay Area Scavengers Company.[1]
Polokov was subjected to the Voigt-Kampff test by bounty hunter Dave Holden, but managed to shoot Holden before escaping.[1]
Disguising himself as Soviet policeman Sandor Kadalyi, he arranged a meeting with the bounty hunter Rick Deckard, ostensibly to assist him, with the Soviets wishing to learn more about the Nexus-6. Upon meeting Deckard and boarding his car, Polokov showed him his laser tube he had acquired from Mars. Handing it to Deckard, he kept hold of the triggering unit, which allowed him to remotely control the weapon. Realizing Polokov's deception, Deckard set off a since wave inside the car, rendering the laser tube useless. Polokov then began to strangle Deckard until the bounty hunter managed to wield his .38 magnum to shoot Polokov dead.[1]
After his death, a police precinct staffed by androids confirmed via bone marrow test that Polokov was indeed an android.[1]

Polokov appears in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and its comic book adaptation. The Blade Runner character Leon Kowalski is loosely based upon him.
