Stuck this in my edit summary, but in case further discussion comes up, I looked over the scene again and it's indeed Hooper lying there with a knife in him and there's nobody else. So if he's still alive (I don't recall if he's actually in All We Are Not beyond the extended flashback, but I do remember Bannister waiting for him as if he's still alive, will have to watch again), either Elle just thinks she killed him or the memory isn't entirely real...
